Senior Water Resources Engineer

Applied Sciences is a team of engineers, scientists, landscape architects, and planners passionate about providing innovative solutions for today’s infrastructure problems and tomorrow’s climate challenges. We enjoy a “people first” culture in developing projects that harness our collective expertise in meeting community goals and creating comprehensive, well-formulated, sustainable solutions. As we approach our 20th Anniversary, we are looking for equally enthusiastic teammates to join us as we continue to focus on the future. Become an industry leader in helping our public sector clients tackle water management infrastructure challenges related to their vulnerable assets in the face of climate change, extreme weather events, and sea level rise.  Join us in providing our clients with industry-leading resilient solutions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General responsibilities include performing water resources planning and design projects with an emphasis on maintaining project schedules and budgets. At a minimum, you will be responsible for maintaining project schedules, goals, and deadlines; Preparing fee and person-hour estimates, job budgets, and schedules; and Developing hydrologic and hydraulic models at local and watershed scales. Reviewing and providing comments on hydrologic and hydraulic models prepared by others; Preparing or overseeing the preparation of final plans and design reports; and Conducting or overseeing personnel involved in engineering investigations and planning work. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE (MINIMUM REQUIRED)·        ABET-accredited Engineering bachelor’s degree (Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources preferred)·        A current State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one is preferred.EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM REQUIRED)·        5+ years in water resources-related work·        Proficiency in developing and reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models at local and watershed scales.·        Experience with H&H models such as ICPR, XP-SWMM, HEC-HMS, or HEC-RAS·        Experience with ESRI GIS software.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED·        Proficient in ArcHydro Tools·        Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral)·        Microsoft 360 Suite proficient·        Ability to work in a team environment.A SAMPLING OF OFFERED BENEFITS·        Hybrid Work environment·        Medical Health Benefits·        Dental and Vision Coverage·        Paid Short-Term, Long-Term, and AD&D Insurance·        Paid Term Life Insurance·        401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match·        Paid Time Off (PTO)·        Paid Holidays Please send a letter and resume (in confidence) to hr@appliedfl.com
