Materials Handler I

Overview The Material Handler I is a full time, overtime eligible, entrylevel position that reports to the Materials Management Team. TheMaterials Handler I is responsible for performing manual and clericalduties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, anddelivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies. The payrange for this position is \$17.95 to \$24.00 per hour. Compensationwill be determined based on education, experience, and other factors inAccordance With Applicable Laws. Essential Functions Counts, Weighs, Ormeasures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying informationand variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds withpurchasing to rectify. Processes RMAs. Return Material Authorization.Perform cycle counts on inventory items. Prepares materials for shipmentby picking, packaging, and shipping. Prepare orders for shipments inaccordance with pick tickets, customer requirements, and packagingguidelines (IATA and DOT) through accepted methods/practices. Operatesmaterial handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucksor dollies to move stock or reorganize storage. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesRequired: General shipping or Warehouse experience (0 2 years). Basicmath skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and dividein multiple units of measure. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Officeproducts, as well as PC based equipment, printers, and otherperipherals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Abilityto work independently, to prioritize responsibilities. Preferred: HighSchool Diploma or equivalent. Ability to obtain a forklift license.Valid drivers license. Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 poundsfrequently. Able to occasionally move about inside the warehouse as wellas the facility. Able to remain stationary for an extended length oftime. Operate computers and other office equipment. Push, pull, carry,or maneuver heavier items with additional manpower or appropriatedevices. Traverse about the facility, carry and climb ladders, work fromheights, crawl under equipment and have the dexterity to work with tradetools.
