Valid South Carolina driver's license
Three (3) years of experience as an automotive mechanic
The Automotive Mechanic II performs skilled mechanical repair work on City-owned diesel and gasoline powered automobiles, trucks, and other light-to-heavy equipment ensuring that repaired vehicles run properly and safely. Under general supervision, the Automotive Mechanic II performs preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled and performs related work as required. Work includes the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of both diesel and gasoline-powered light-to-heavy equipment and vehicles owned and operated by the City, requiring considerable knowledge of automotive mechanics theories, practices, and standards of quality and safety. This position reports to the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent.
