Repair and maintain all assets as needed at the Center. This position provides a high-quality catering service for banquets.Essential DutiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Serves food to guests with a high level of customer service.Must understand and practice the concept of teamwork.Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Convention Center.Must strive to provide guest with a memorable experience and exceed their expectations by anticipating their needs.Assist with collecting all banquet equipment including flatware, China, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event.Prepared garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads.Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.Assist with the preparation and set-up of the event room when necessary.Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.Establish and maintain positive client relationships.Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event.Perform other duties as assigned.Working ConditionsDaily lifting up to 20 lbs., constant reaching, stooping, standing and walking. Must be able to balance serving trays and have good manual dexterity.Required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear.This position requires work inside and outside of the building, parking lots included and some exposure to adverse conditions.Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. High noise level.Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in results.QualificationsHigh School diploma/GED requiredOne year's experience in the food industry.Ability to work with limited supervision.Must have a professional attitude and appearance.Will need food handler's certificationPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
