State ControllerLocation: Hackensack, NJ 07601Shift Details: M-F, 9-5Salary: $120k to $180k/yr (permanent role)+benefitState Controller to partner with practice leadership to help drive strategic initiatives both financial and operational. The State Controller assists in determining financial goals for the various operating units, analyzes and reports variances and maintains general ledger and related systems for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. He/she develops and presents management reports, coordinates and monitors financial budgets, and ensures financial reporting is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Additionally, the Controller is responsible for:Primary leader to the accounting/finance teamReports monthly results to key stakeholders in a timely manner with appropriate analysis of key performance indicators and adequate explanation of variancesPresents financials at physician meetings, board meetings, and finance committee meetingsDevelops robust reporting packages as requested/needed by management and PhysiciansWillfully and accurately investigates all necessary detail and activity to correctly identify the causation of variance in the financial statementsResponsible for the preparation of annual budgetCommunicates with key operational, physician and centralized support counterpartsBrings forth recommendations for improvement and efficiency in all aspects of accounting and finance operationsPerforms ad hoc and pro forma analyses as needed/requestedManages all capital requisitions, including proforma and business case developmentEnsures adequate documentation, review and execution of internal controls as required by SOX initiates and completes necessary remediationProvides financial oversight and indirect leadership to revenue cycle business offices for all monthly activity to include, but not limited to: billing, adjustments, refunds, data extraction, reporting, investigation, accounts receivable aging, corrections, and month end close of practice management systemLiaison between US Oncology Network/McKesson and local operations for process implementation and control.Providing support to department managers, practice administration and physicians in the preparation, understanding and use of financial information and assists the organization toward its goal of improving cost-effectiveness of health care delivery.Participate in development of practice objectives.Supervising and mentoring assigned accounting/finance teamDeveloping systems and monitoring compliance with the various company/practice agreementsEnsuring the practice is compliant with all established accounting and revenue cycle policies/procedures and internal controlsThe ideal candidate is an experienced mentor, highly organized, with the ability to be flexible and multi-task. Additionally, he or she will offer:Demonstrated leadership capabilitiesEffective communicatorStrong attention to detail and fortitude to perform the work necessary to achieve resultsContinuous improvement mindsetAccounting, finance, analytical and healthcare acumenBalance sheet reserve measurement & accountingProactive, determined, self-starterComfortable and capable of working independentlyPosition requires:Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (with appropriate experience).Practice Management/Healthcare experience.7+ years of progressive Accounting experience with at least three years managing othersStrong foundation in accounting required, but candidates also demonstrating strong analytical/FP&A experience preferredCPA and or MBA preferred, though not requiredWork in-person from the Corporate Office in Teaneck for a total of 4 days per week, initially, to build relationships, prioritize objectives, and establish a team culture. More days of remote work will be acceptable in the future as the State Controller capabilities are demonstrated and team objectives are met.
