This position is full-time and will operate out of our Cedar Rapids location. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with everyone in our organization and will occasionally travel to other nearby branch locations 5-10% over the course of a year. You will be a part of a small IT team making a huge impact on both the customer and employee experience as we continue to grow.What You Will Spend Most Of Your Time DoingProvide technical assistance to users via phone, email, chat, remote connection, or in-person while following established IT policies and proceduresProvide basic technical support for hardware, software, and networksUtilize the IT ticketing system for logging incidents, communicating with users, updating cases, and documenting resolutionsEnsure new IT tickets are acknowledged and assigned in a timely mannerIdentify and escalate issues requiring advanced technical experience and/or urgent attentionWork with the appropriate sense of urgency to minimize end-user frustration and business disruption resulting from IT issuesSet up new computers and install software in accordance with IT standardsConfigure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with IT policies and proceduresAttend and actively participate in weekly IT team meetingsPerform other duties as assignedQualified Applicants Will Bring These Skills To The TeamExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsBasic understanding of IT systems, networking, and troubleshootingTechnical knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 Operating SystemsGood understanding of Microsoft Office application suiteGood understanding of Google Workspace environment1-3 years of desktop support experienceSelf-motivator with an internal drive for successThe ability to build and foster relationships across all departmentsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written communication skillsAbility and willingness to adjust work hours to support company-wide eventsAbility to remain calm in a fast-paced, changing environmentAbility to organize, prioritize, plan, and execute workAbility to work alone and within a team environmentAbility to lift 50 pounds unaidedAbility to sit at a computer for long periods of timePeriodic non-business-hours work may be required for major issues or certain project implementations.Why Work With Us?At Cogent, you’re not just an employee—you’re an owner.
