The goal of Serenity is to provide skills building and risk reduction counseling to decrease the spread of HIV. Serenity provides HIV-positive clients, aged 16 and older and their families with case management & skills training to live productive and full lives while reducing the risk of transmission of HIV.
Overview
The Grant Manager is responsible for overseeing the grant lifecycle, from proposal development to final reporting. This role involves managing grant applications, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and monitoring grant expenditures. The Grant Manager collaborates with various stakeholders to support the successful implementation and evaluation of funded projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Proposal Development:
Research and identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s goals.
Develop and prepare grant proposals, including writing, editing, and assembling necessary documentation.
Coordinate with program staff to gather relevant data and information for proposals.
Grant Administration:
Manage the day-to-day administration of grants, including tracking deadlines, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and processing payments.
Maintain accurate records of grant agreements, financial transactions, and progress reports.
Ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with donor guidelines and organizational policies.
Budget and Financial Management:
Develop and monitor grant budgets, ensuring alignment with grant proposals and donor requirements.
Review financial reports and expenditures to ensure proper use of grant funds.
Prepare financial reports and documentation for grant audits and evaluations.
Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare and submit timely and accurate progress and financial reports to donors and funding agencies.
Ensure compliance with all grant regulations, policies, and procedures.
Address any issues or discrepancies identified during audits or reviews.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries from donors, funding agencies, and internal staff.
Provide training and support to program staff on grant management processes and requirements.
Facilitate communication between the organization and grant funders.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to assess the impact and effectiveness of funded projects.
Collect and analyze data to measure project outcomes and ensure alignment with grant objectives.
Use evaluation findings to make recommendations for future grant proposals and project improvements.
Grant Renewal and Fundraising:
Support the preparation of grant renewals and reapplications.
Collaborate with development and fundraising teams to identify new funding opportunities and support overall fundraising strategies.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
Experience: Proven experience in grant management, proposal writing, and financial administration. Experience in a similar role within the nonprofit sector is preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of grant funding processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based with standard working hours; occasional travel may be required for meetings or site visits.
May involve working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
