Srote & Co Architects | Planners | Interiors is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our award-winning team. The selected candidate will be expected to:
Participate in planning, designing, or reviewing plans for the erection of structures requiring stress analysis.
Design structures to meet estimated load requirements, computing size, shape, strength, and type of structural members or performs structural analysis of plans and structures prepared by private engineers.
May inspect existing projects and recommend repair and replacement of defective members or rebuilding of entire structure.
Evaluate the safety of the structure, which is the prime objective.
Evaluate construction cost to remain within budget with optimum utilization of the materials available.
Requirements:
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe
Knowledge of StruCalc, RISA, or other structural design software
Ability to work in an office environment with work-from-home flexibility
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications:
Must have bachelors’ degree in structural engineering. Advanced degrees will be taken into consideration but are not required.
Experience and proficiency in residential structural design is preferable.
Must be able to hand sketch
Must have strong AutoCAD drafting skills
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must have team working skills.
