Facility Engineer
Prolec is seeking a Facility Engineer to lead and support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our large power transformer manufacturing campus and its critical support systems. This role is responsible for overseeing facility infrastructure, managing capital projects, and partnering cross-functionally to improve productivity, reduce operating costs, and support long-term business and growth objectives. This position combines facility engineering expertise, project leadership, and hands-on technical problem-solving in a dynamic manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and support plant electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, controls panels, VFDs, and safety-critical systemsTroubleshoot and support PLC-based equipment and facility systems using standard ladder logic and best practicesManage projects and programs that support:Facility and grounds expansions, consolidations, and improvementsHVAC, electrical, fire alarm, and security systemsPlant oil, vapor phase, vacuum, and specialized processing systemsManufacturing and physical test floor equipmentPlan, lead, and execute capital projects from concept through installation and startup, including:Equipment and system design coordinationVendor selection and bid evaluationCapital appropriation requests with financial justificationBudget control and cost managementCoordinate teams in a matrix management environment, working with maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, CI, and operationsIdentify waste reduction and productivity improvement opportunities across manufacturing and office environmentsSupport process and system changes tied to new product introductionsDirect and manage external vendors, contractors, and consultantsServe as a technical resource for facility and project initiativesPartner with maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering teams to maintain uptime in a 24/7 production environmentRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering4+ years of relevant experience in maintenance or facilities in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work cross-functionally and lead teams without direct authorityStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMulti-disciplinary background spanning electrical, mechanical, controls, and software systemsExperience with industrial automation, including PLCs, ladder logic, and variable frequency drivesFamiliarity with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus)Working ConditionsCombination of shop floor and office work within a large manufacturing campusMust be able to stand for extended periodsOccasional exposure to routine manufacturing hazardsLimited business travel as requiredWhy Join Us?Culture: We take pride in a culture rooted in strong values, meaningful behaviors, and a deep sense of purpose.
