Job Title: EV Charging Sales Representative Position Overview: The EV Charging Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing sales for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. You will serve as a technical consultant, helping businesses, municipalities, and multi-unit dwellings transition to electric mobility by providing end-to-end solutions—from hardware and software to installation and maintenance. Key Responsibilities & DutiesLead Management & Business Development Respond Promptly: Follow up on incoming website inquiries and phone call leads within [Insert Timeframe, e.g., 24 hours]. Proactive Prospecting: Identify and target new business opportunities in sectors such as commercial real estate, fleet management, retail, and hospitality. CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all leads, activities, and customer interactions in the CRM. Technical Consultative Sales Site Assessments: Conduct physical site visits with electrical contractors to evaluate existing electrical capacity, determine the optimal charger location, and identify any infrastructure upgrades needed. Solution Design: Collaborate with contractors and engineers to select the best EV charging solution (Level 2, DC Fast Charging, etc.) based on the client's specific needs and site constraints. Rebate & Incentive Guidance: Educate clients on available federal, state, and utility-level rebates, grants, and tax incentives to reduce their total project cost. Proposal & Project Management Quoting: Develop comprehensive quotes and proposals that include hardware, networking software (SaaS), installation labor, and ongoing maintenance agreements. Active Follow-Up: Systematically follow up on previously quoted projects to overcome objections, answer technical questions, and close the sale. Contracting: Manage the sales process from initial proposal through to signed contracts and regulatory paperwork. Industry & Relationship Building Partnership Growth: Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors, property managers, and sustainability consultants to generate a steady referral pipeline. Product Expertise: Stay current on the latest EV charging technology, software features (load balancing, billing, etc.), and industry trends. Networking: Represent the company at trade shows, local government meetings, and industry networking events. Required Qualifications Experience: 2–5 years of B2B sales experience (experience in electrical, solar, or renewable energy is highly preferred). Technical Aptitude: Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and understand concepts like voltage, amperage, and panel capacity. Communication: Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
