Position Details
Position Type: Full Time / Contract-to-Hire
Job Location: Hybrid or Remote, depending on location. Open to candidates based in CT, IA, IL, IN, MA, ME, MI, MN, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SD, VT, or WI
Compensation: $68 - $78/hr depending on experience

Overview / Summary
Our Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.
As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team counted on to perform a significant portion of Structural analysis and design for our projects. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Structural Lead, Structural Engineers, Structural Designers, and other disciplines. As part of this team, you will help develop design concepts, complete the analysis and design, and work with our Designers to get the structural requirements communicated on design documents and in the model.
It is expected that you have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, knowledge of multiple subject areas, experience with US building codes including seismic provisions, understand how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines, and are building understanding of business trends and industry issues and challenges. This position may require you to serve as a Lead Structural Engineer for medium sized projects or as a Sub Lead for larger projects. You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural engineering analysis and design with minimal supervision
Plan and execute work using independent judgment to evaluate and adapt engineering methods, procedures, and criteria
Apply strong problem‑solving skills; seek input when needed
Demonstrate strong knowledge of lateral design (wind/seismic) and applicable building codes
Maintain high attention to detail and quality control; check own work and review others’ calculations
Manage workload and take full ownership of assigned structural scope to meet schedule, budget, and quality goals
Take initiative on ill‑defined tasks by defining scope and determining required effort
Forecast level of effort and clearly define scope responsibilities
Identify and elevate scope changes to leadership as needed
Collaborate effectively and seek guidance when appropriate
Deliver work in a timely, accurate, and cost‑effective manner
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior staff
Drive improvements in workflows, systems, and tools; support adoption of new technologies
Primary Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer license (PE / PEng)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering
Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
Structural Engineer (SE) License
Experience in semi‑conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
Experience leading medium teams
