Job DescriptionNeurologist (MD/DO)Two positions openBrownwood, TXAbilene, TX (has option for outpatient only)Position SummaryThe Neurologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system. This role includes the care of patients with acute and chronic neurologic conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings, utilizing evidence-based practices and collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurologic disorders including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, headache disorders, neuromuscular diseases, movement disorders, dementia, and neurodegenerative conditionsProvide outpatient neurology care and inpatient consultation servicesInterpret and manage neurologic diagnostic studies, including EEG, EMG/NCS, and neuroimaging, as applicableDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans based on current clinical guidelinesParticipate in acute neurologic care such as stroke evaluation and management, as applicableCollaborate with neurosurgery, primary care, rehabilitation, psychiatry, and other specialistsEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and disease managementMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiativesSupervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or medical students as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited neurology residency programBoard-eligible or board-certified in NeurologyAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesExpertise in neurologic disease diagnosis and managementStrong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skillsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage complex and chronic neurologic conditionsCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient neurology clinics and inpatient hospital settingsCall responsibilities as determined by practice or service needsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environmentsManual dexterity for neurologic examinations and proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and interpretation of diagnostic dataRequirementsMust maintain state certification and/or licensure.
