Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and strengthen day-to-day accounting operations. This position plays a key role in the monthly close, audit readiness, compliance activities, and maintenance of sound accounting procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across finance functions while helping develop entry-level team members.Responsibilities:• Manage monthly and periodic close activities by preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, and clear financial variance explanations.• Review and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, researching discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.• Develop, update, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating documentation to support consistency and internal control.• Assemble financial reporting packages for leadership review and revise schedules or analyses based on feedback from management.• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows by improving coordination, accuracy, and control across related processes.• Prepare required tax, survey, and regulatory filings with close attention to accuracy, completeness, and submission deadlines.• Partner with external auditors by organizing documentation, answering requests, and providing schedules needed for annual audit activities.• Monitor adherence to applicable local, state, and federal requirements and help ensure accounting practices remain compliant.• Provide guidance and training to accounting team members while contributing to process improvement efforts and special projects.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• At least 4 years of accounting or finance experience; public accounting background is preferred.• CPA or similar accounting credential is strongly preferred.• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting practices, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.• Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite or Great Plains is preferred.• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines and support others.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
