Lead Teacher - Twos Room
JOB SUMMARY
Full-time Lead Teachers for our Twos (24-29 months) classrooms.
We are looking for a well-qualified, energetic individual who is passionate about children and early childhood education. The team member must be a Christian with an authentic personal relationship with Jesus, who agrees to the Statements of Faith of Realife Church and our Leadership Honor Code in both their professional conduct and personal lifestyle. The team member must be committed to incorporating these qualities and standards in the classroom. Teachers must establish and nurture positive relationships as they teach and disciple students and work closely with colleagues, parents, admin staff and community members, showing respect at all times.
Realife STEAM Academy is a childcare ministry for children ages 6 weeks through Pre-k. We use a faith-based curriculum to encourage learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math. We also offer before and after school care for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
We believe that each child should be provided with a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their natural curiosity and excitement for learning. We also believe that each child learns at their own pace and when provided with a variety of developmentally appropriate opportunities to play, discover, experiment, investigate, and explore that they become lifelong learners. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and facilitate lesson plans utilizing our curriculum to provide opportunities for children to learn, grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Lead an engaging and inclusive classroom experience that empowers children to develop curiosities, initiative, risk-taking and a sense of accomplishment by encouraging children to think, reason, question and experiment, while encouraging children’s independence and self-selection of learning activities through play-based learning approaches.
Establish warm and responsive relationships that allow each child to feel recognized, acknowledged, and secure.
Manage the classroom to all regulatory standards, rules and requirements, including those for Paths to QUALITY™, CACFP and the State of Indiana.
Create a consistent and nurturing environment by following a daily schedule.
Maintain a healthy, safe, and clean environment for children and colleagues.
Participate in “special days” and family engagement activities.
Engage in ongoing two-way communication that supports the family as a partner in their child’s education.

WORK CONTEXT
The successful team member should be prepared for the following:
You may be scheduled to open or close the classroom where there are extra duties of turning the classroom over to/from the weekend.
You will be expected to get on the floor at the child’s level and interact with them.
You will be required to frequently lift equipment or children up to 35 pounds.
You may be required to occasionally lift equipment or children up to 50 pounds.

Strong written and verbal communication skills when dealing with children and their parents/guardians
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Developmental or Child Psychology, Elementary Education or closely related field is preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in an early childhood setting working directly with young children is preferred.
Satisfactorily complete and maintain all required certifications.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
