Data Modeler

Job description The Senior Data Modeler role will be responsible for designing and implementing data models that support enterprise data initiatives within a hybrid cloud environment involving Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructures. This position requires close collaboration with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure that data models are accurate, efficient, and scalable. The role will involve working with Data Mesh architecture and Databricks Medallion architecture, covering data lakes, data warehouses, and semantic layers in a modern data platform. · Design, implement, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models · Collaborate with data engineers and architects to integrate data models with the data architecture · Develop and enforce data modeling standards and best practices · Translate business requirements into data structures that meet performance and scalability requirements · Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories · Optimize and tune data models for performance and scalability · Participate in data architecture reviews and provide feedback on data model improvements · Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide data modeling solutions · Ensure data integrity and quality across the data models · Work with modern data infrastructure components, including data replication tools, event streaming platforms, real-time analytics databases, and stream processing frameworks · Engage with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies and ensure seamless data flow across the data infrastructure · Implement and maintain semantic layers using tools like AtScale · Utilize project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence · Work across hybrid cloud environments involving Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructures · 8-10+ years of experience in data modeling with a focus on large-scale data environments · Strong experience with Azure Cloud, AWS, and on-premises infrastructures · Proficiency in designing data models for hybrid cloud data warehouses and data lakes · Experience with AtScale or similar tools for building semantic layers · Experience with Data Mesh architecture and Azure Databricks Medallion architecture · Knowledge of modern data platforms covering data lakes, data warehouses, and semantic layers · Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, or similar · Experience with BI tools like Azure Power BI for reporting and analytics · Solid understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases · Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills · Strong communication skills to articulate complex data requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders · Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Nice to have skill set include: · Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams · Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives · Familiarity with design thinking principles Job Type: Contract Pay: $75.00 - $79.74 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: Hybrid remote in Irving, TX 75063
