Location: Washington, DC | HybridEmployment Type: Full TimeClearance: Must be able to obtain a VA Public TrustProgram: VA EHRM SISSAbout The RoleEmerging Tech is seeking a Network & Infrastructure Architect/Engineer to support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs EHRM SISS program. This is a hands-on role focused on cloud and network architecture, infrastructure, observability, security, and healthcare IT integrations.The ideal candidate will have direct VA EHRM experience, strong OCI networking expertise, and experience supporting complex healthcare IT environments.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain OCI network infrastructure, including VCNs, subnets, gateways, DRG, peering, NSGs, and flow logsSupport secure and reliable connectivity between OCI and on-premises environmentsDevelop network architecture diagrams, address plans, infrastructure documentation, and Visio network mapsImplement and manage logging, monitoring, dashboards, alarms, and telemetry across cloud, network, application, and security environmentsUtilize OCI Logging, Splunk, CrowdStrike Falcon, Grafana, Prometheus, and related observability toolsMonitor and troubleshoot HL7/FHIR interfaces and integration environmentsSupport Zero Trust, IAM, and security controls aligned with NIST and CISA frameworksAnalyze network issues and recommend solutions to improve performance, resiliency, and redundancySupport go-live activities, ongoing operations, technical documentation, and infrastructure planningCollaborate with interface, infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity, and program teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related discipline8–12+ years of network, infrastructure, or network architecture experience5+ years of hands-on cloud networking experienceHands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience, including VCNs, subnets, gateways, DRG, NSGs, and flow logsDirect experience supporting the VA EHRM program or EHRM-related environmentsHealthcare IT experience with HL7 v2, FHIR, interface engines, and enterprise EHR platforms such as Oracle Health, Cerner, or EpicHands-on experience with Splunk and OCI LoggingExperience with security and infrastructure telemetry, including CrowdStrike Falcon or similar platformsKnowledge of Zero Trust, IAM, NIST SP 800-207, and NIST SP 800-53Strong technical documentation and network diagramming skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, or OCI observability toolsExperience with CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model (ZTMM) v2.0OCI Architect, CISSP, CCSP, CISA, AWS, or Azure certificationsFederal healthcare or other highly regulated environment experienceAbout Emerging TechEmerging Tech is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), 8(a), and HUBZone-certified federal contractor specializing in healthcare IT, cybersecurity, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, and digital modernization.We partner with federal agencies to deliver secure, innovative, and mission-focused technology solutions that support critical government programs and improve the services provided to those who depend on them.Join Emerging Tech and help support high-impact federal technology and healthcare modernization initiatives.
