This is a second/third shift position with variable hours.Please see our website for more information regarding Baker Commodities, Inc. www.bakercommodities.comBaker Commodities California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California ApplicantsCompensation and Benefits$75,000-$85,000 salary per yearMedical, dental and vision coverage offered401(k) With employer contributionPaid holidays, vacation and sick timeCompany sponsored life insuranceCompany sponsored short and long-term disabilityPet InsuranceDuties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate lunches of employees to ensure proper clock in and out proceduresReview documentation in accordance with FSMA regulationsInspect incoming loads and assess risk of potential contaminatesAssign work and follow up on job assignments to ensure completionCounsel and discipline employees after normal business hours as neededMonitor employee schedules and coordinate with management to assure that employees are not in unauthorized placesMonitor shipments entering and leaving the plant outside of business hoursSupervise and train employees on corrective action needed when observedCoordinate with management any issues onsite that are brought forth by personnelDocument cleaning and inspection logs outside of business hoursManage call ins and coordinate plant personnel and drivers to cover outside of office hoursPerform "walk-arounds" and monitor equipmentObserve and document repairs completed during off hours and report them to managementMonitor personnel and equipment to ensure that safety procedures are being followedInspect work and break areas, including; lunchroom, bathrooms, plant, lab, and shop to ensure that employees are not abusing breaks and that the areas are cleanCoordinate actions in case of an emergency in accordance with the safety and evacuation planInteract with others in a professional and ethical mannerFollow department and company proceduresKeep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this companyOther duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior forklift experience preferredPrevious experience in a production setting preferredMust be able to climb and not be afraid of heightsMust be able to frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 60 poundsLess than 5% travel requirementPhysical Demands/Requirements:Constantly (over 2/3):Move and transport materials up to 50-100 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipmentMoves across wet/slippery and uneven surfacesMust be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment and materials that are hot or hazardous chemical materialsFrequently (1/3-2/3):Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditionsAscends/descends heights while maintaining balanceUtilizes tools and equipmentRemains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift or other mechanical equipmentOccasionally (under 1/3):Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed such as equipment that needs to be painted or materials that need to be moved/removedElectronically and manually completes logs/reportsCommunicates with staff in the process of performing dutiesAbout Baker Commodities, Inc.Baker Commodities Inc. has been in business for over 80 years.
