Global Customs Compliance Director
Description:Culligan is looking for a Global Customs Compliance Director. This individual is responsible for leading and maintaining a comprehensive global trade compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable U.S. and international import and export regulations. This role serves as the subject matter expert for customs and trade compliance, mitigating risk while enabling efficient, compliant global trade operations in support of Culligan's business objectives.Responsibilities:Ensure full compliance with U.S. import and export regulations, including CBP, EAR, OFAC, and related regulatory bodiesMaintain awareness of evolving trade regulations and assess impact to the businessDevelop, implement, and enforce global trade compliance policies and proceduresManage customs compliance programs, including internal audits, CBP audits, ACE reporting, and corrective action plansServe as primary point of contact for customs authorities, brokers, and internal stakeholdersLead implementation and ongoing maintenance of CTPAT programs across multiple U.S. statesOversee HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determinations, and duty management processesPartner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Legal teams to manage duty exposure and compliance risksLeverage global trade programs to support cost savings and compliance, including Duty Drawback, Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), and bonded facilitiesIdentify opportunities to utilize preferential tariff programs and free trade agreements worldwideProvide guidance on how global trade programs can be strategically leveraged for CulliganImplement and govern global processes for certificates of origin and "made in" / "assembled in" country labeling systemsEnsure accuracy and compliance of trade documentation across all regionsProvide hands-on expertise in Mexico trade compliance, including pedimentos, customs regimes, and tariff treatmentEnsure compliance with Mexico-specific customs requirements and regional trade agreementsCollaborate with regional teams and customs brokers to maintain compliant cross-border flowsProvide training and guidance to internal teams on trade compliance requirementsDrive continuous improvement through risk assessments, audits, and corrective actionsEstablish KPIs and reporting to monitor compliance performanceJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree (BS) preferred in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Law, or related field7-10+ years of experience in import/export compliance or global trade complianceDeep knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations (CBP, EAR, OFAC)Proven experience implementing and managing CTPAT programs across multiple locationsStrong expertise in HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and duty managementExperience with Duty Drawback, FTZ, bonded warehouses, and global trade programsHands-on knowledge of Mexico customs processes, including pedimentos and customs regimesExperience managing customs audits, ACE reporting, and corrective action plansStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies in this position:Analytical Customer Focus Team PlayerPassion Integrity Organizational/PlanningCommunication Attention to Detail Cross-functional CollaborationTarget Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year plus bonus. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
