Facilities Specialist
Job Overview:
Family Paths, Inc., a non-profit agency committed to social justice and serving diverse communities, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the upkeep and safety of our Grove Building and other facilities, contributing directly to our mission to support families in Alameda County.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs: Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, painting, and basic carpentry. Ensure that all building systems function efficiently and are safe.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain fire alarms, extinguishers, and non-electronic locks. Ensure compliance with Cal OSHA and ADA standards in office spaces.
Facilities Support: Assemble office furnishings, assist with mechanical systems, and coordinate with vendors for infrastructure-related work.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs to prevent breakdowns.
Project Assistance: Support the Facilities Manager in designing new office spaces and carrying out special projects.
Emergency Response: Be on-call for urgent maintenance issues and safety concerns.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
Ability to work independently, follow directions, and maintain clear communication with team members.
Commitment to cultural sensitivity and the agency's values of social justice.
Valid CA driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves various physical activities, including standing, lifting, bending, and using tools. The ability to hear and see clearly within a close range is essential.
