Vice President of ComplianceJob Number: 061527Location: Chicago, IL; Plano, TX; or Long Beach, CA (Hybrid 3 days in-office, 2 days at home)Compensation: Approx. $150k/yr (DOE)Hours: Full-time; 9:00am - 5:00pm, 1 hour for lunch; 35 hours per weekEmployment Type: Full-time, ExemptCompany OverviewA U.S.-based logistics and transportation services company providing domestic and international supply chain solutions, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transportation services.Position SummaryThe Vice President of Compliance oversees corporate compliance functions, including international trade and customs compliance, business process management (BPM), and regulatory alignment with U.S. federal, state, and international requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesCustoms & Trade ComplianceServe as the company's licensed Customs Broker qualifierMonitor and advise on international trade complianceCommunicate with U.S. Customs and respond to inquiriesReview and approve customers and vendorsMaintain FMC compliance, including tariff re-filing and trainingConduct internal customs audits and minimize ISF and entry errorsEnsure timely customs entries and duty paymentsAcquire and maintain C-TPAT certificationProvide ongoing compliance training to prevent import/export violationsEvaluate and implement compliance tools, including AI for commodity classificationBusiness Process Management (BPM)Maintain company policies, licenses, and compliance documentationReview, update, and support implementation of SOPsAutomate manual operational processesCorporate Compliance OfficerDevelop and maintain the company compliance programEnsure adherence to applicable U.S. and international regulationsAct as liaison with parent/group entities to align compliance standardsQualificationsRequired:U.S. Customs Broker License10+ years of logistics or transportation experience10+ years of people management experienceStrong knowledge of international trade regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred:Bachelor's degreeImport customs operations or international forwarding experienceLegal or regulatory affairs experienceOther DetailsUp to 25% domestic travel requiredStandard office environmentMust be currently authorized to work in the United States.
