WelderA welder is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the fabrication, welding, maintenance and repair of oil and gas equipment, pressure vessels, structural steel assemblies, gates, etc. Working from engineering drawings, weld procedure specifications and fabrication schematics.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFabricate, fit-up and weld pressure vessels, structural steel assemblies, gates, cattle guards, etc.Prepare weld joints to proper dimensions, including grinding, gouging and cleaning to ensure sound weld qualityWeld structural and process piping in multiple positionsFit and tack pipe spools, install glanges, elbows, tees, and other fittings per drawingsFabricate and weld structural steel assemblies including frames, skids, platforms, ladders, handrails, brackets and supportsPerform fit-up and assembly of structural members using squares, levels, clamps and fixtures to ensure dimensional accuracySupport hydrostatic testing pneumatic testing and NDE activities as requiredPerform visual weld inspections and dimensional checks on completed work prior to QC inspectionMaintain welder qualification records and perform continuity welds as required to keep qualification currentCleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment at the end of each shift, maintains a safe, organized shop environmentComply with all safety policies, codes and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees.Other job duties, as assigned by managementRequired SkillsMust be able to read measurements and perform basic math for measurements and tolerancesAbility to stand, walk, squat, bend and perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks for extended periods in a manufacturing environmentReport to work as scheduledMust be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to develop and maintain strong work relations with teamMust have effective communication skillsWorks well as a productive and collaborative member of a fabrication teamExcellent Organizational skills and attention to detailWillingness to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as production schedules or customer demandMust be able to build trust and promote a positive safety cultureMust be able to lift 75 lbs and hand physical demanding workMust be adaptable to changing field conditions and operational demandsMust pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening, participate in the random testing pool and remain drug & alcohol free throughout employmentMust pass a motor vehicle record check and background checkQualificationsThe requirements listed in this job description are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required and must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Work EnvironmentThis position is performed primarily in an indoor manufacturing shop environment. The work environment regularly invoices exposure to welding fumes, arc flash, heat, noise above 85 db, and heavy fabricated materials. The facility operates cranes and powered industrial vehicles. Proper PPE is required at all times in designated areas. Occasional outdoor works may be required for rework.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours, after hours and weekend work as job duties demand.Licenses & CertificationsValid Driver's LicenseEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience operating forklift/crane preferred.
