Marine Mechanic & Alignment Specialist (Marine/Industrial) - Field Service Technician/Engineer (Vibration & Rotating Equipment)Are you mechanically inclined and skilled with hand and power tools?Do you want hands-on field work on rotating machinery while developing specialized technical skills in precision alignment and vibration analysis?Position SummaryThe Field Service Technician/Engineer (Marine Mechanic & Alignment Specialist) provides technical service, repair, installation, and diagnostic support for maritime and industrial rotating and reciprocating equipment. This role works independently or with a lead technician to troubleshoot machinery issues, perform mechanical repairs, and execute precision alignment services.Our company is a leader in vibration analysis and alignment excellence since 1992, and we will mentor and train motivated technicians to become specialists in these areas.Regular hours are Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends is required. Travel is expected 25–50% annually, including domestic and international assignments.Essential Job FunctionsPerform mechanical repairs on marine and industrial rotating and reciprocating equipmentDiagnose machinery issues and complete corrective repairsDismantle and reassemble heavy equipmentInstall and align rotating machinery (motors, pumps, shafts, couplings, bearings, etc.)Perform precision shaft alignment and machinery positioning (training provided)Assist with vibration-related troubleshooting and machinery diagnosticsClean, lubricate, and perform preventive maintenanceInspect components for wear using precision measuring tools (lasers, optical scopes, micrometers, gauges)Read and interpret operating manuals, drawings, and blueprints (required)Communicate job status, findings, and recommendations to managementFollow all safety policies and proceduresWork independently with minimal supervision while representing a professional company imageNon‑Essential DutiesPerform additional tasks as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED – Required3+ years mechanical repair experience – RequiredMarine equipment experience – RequiredVocational or Technical School training – PreferredMilitary Veterans encouraged to applyWillingness to learn and expand technical knowledge to grow skills and capabilities. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong mechanical aptitude for machinery, tools, and repair techniquesFamiliarity with rotating equipment components including:Shafts, propellers, bearings, couplings, sealsMachinery chocking, mounting, and positioningComfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instrumentsAbility to work in hot, confined spaces and physically demanding environmentsAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbsStrong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skillsFlexible, dependable, and adaptable in a fast‑paced field service environmentWilling to work overtime, nights, and weekends as assignedFluent in spoken and written EnglishBasic math skills and familiarity with the metric systemAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningDomestic and international travel required (passport required)Licenses / Certification RequirementsLegally authorized to work in the United StatesValid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving recordValid PassportFork Lift Certification – PreferredOSHA Maritime 10 hour – Preferred
