Job Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a leading organization in the Energy/Natural Resources industry in Dallas, Texas. This Long-term Contract position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting period-end activities, and preparing reporting that informs business and regulatory needs. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively across reconciliations, close processes, and financial analysis.12-month contract position, offering hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office in Dallas; 2 days a week working remotelyFind out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.Interim Senior Accountant (contract position):Responsibilities:• Prepare and record complex journal entries to ensure monthly financial activity is captured accurately in the general ledger.• Perform detailed account and bank reconciliations, research variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.• Manage and support month-end close activities, helping maintain deadlines and accuracy across accounting deliverables.• Develop, maintain, and distribute schedules and financial reports related to core accounting functions and reporting needs.• Compile, analyze, and validate accounting data used to respond to audit requests and regulatory reporting requirements.• Review financial transactions for proper documentation and compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulatory expectations.• Document accounting workflows, procedures, and internal controls, and recommend updates to strengthen efficiency and effectiveness.• Provide guidance and support to team members and internal stakeholders on accounting processes, reporting questions, and system-related needs.• Assist with accounting system enhancements, user support, and training efforts that improve the quality and usefulness of financial information.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 4 years of accounting experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review complex accounting entries, schedules, and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy.• Experience supporting audits, regulatory data requests, or financial reporting processes requiring detailed analysis and verification.• Knowledge of accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements within a structured business environment.• Ability to investigate discrepancies, solve accounting issues, and communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders.• Proficiency with computerized accounting systems and reporting tools, including the ability to support process improvements and end users. xevrcyc
