The company provides integrated solutions for POS, wine clubs, eCommerce, reservations, and customer management, helping wineries streamline operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences both online and in tasting rooms.Role OverviewThe Core Engineer builds and operates the foundational systems that power the platform. This role works across API services, data systems, and web applications to deliver features, improve reliability, and support core business workflows.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on execution, learning, and impact. You will write code, ship features, fix real production issues, and contribute to systems used by customers every day. The role is embedded within a small, cross-functional team and provides broad exposure across the stack.This position is designed for engineers early in their career who can build software and want to grow quickly. Demonstrated ability to use modern tools, including AI-assisted development, to improve productivity and code quality is a strong advantage.Key Responsibilities:System and Application Development Build and maintain API services, data systems, and web applications Implement features across the stack from frontend through backend and storage Debug and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause and long-term fixes Contribute to improving system reliability, performance, and maintainabilityFeature Delivery and Execution Translate requirements into working software with clear, testable outcomes Deliver small, iterative changes that improve the product and user experience Collaborate with engineering, product, and support to ship features efficiently Take ownership of assigned work from development through deploymentCode Quality and Engineering Practices Write clean, maintainable code following established patterns and standards Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality Contribute to testing, debugging, and validation of system changes Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve speed and accuracyEngineering Expectations Operate across the stack and build working software in a production environment Learn quickly and adapt to new systems, tools, and domains Focus on execution and delivering measurable outcomes Communicate clearly on progress, blockers, and resultsWhat Success Looks Like in the First 6–12 Months Consistently delivers working features and fixes with minimal oversight Demonstrates ability to debug and resolve real production issues Builds familiarity across multiple parts of the system and contributes broadly Improves development speed and quality through effective use of tools and processes Actively participates in team workflows and contributes to reliable deliveryRequired Qualifications Ability to write code and build working software (personal projects, internships, or professional experience) Familiarity with at least one programming language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, or C# Basic understanding of APIs, data storage, and web application development Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to learn quickly and operate in a fast-moving environment Clear communication skills and willingness to collaborateAdditional Notes No specific degree required; demonstrated ability to build software is the key requirement This is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Engineering Engineers have autonomy in tools and approaches, provided outcomes meet quality and delivery expectations The role provides broad exposure across systems and is intended as a growth path into more senior engineering roles
