Registered Nurse (RN) - School Health ServicesReports To: Superintendent / Campus AdministratorsFLSA Status: ExemptContract Length: 182 daysJob Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive school health services to students and staff in the Floydada Collegiate ISD. The RN promotes student wellness, manages acute and chronic health conditions, ensures compliance with state regulations, and supports a safe learning environment across all campuses.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Student Health Services:Provide direct nursing care to studentsAdminister medications and treatments per physician orders and district policyDevelop and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)Support Section 504 and special education processesHealth Screening & Prevention:Conduct required Texas health screeningsMonitor communicable diseases and enforce exclusion guidelinesPromote preventive care and immunization complianceEmergency Preparedness & Response:Respond to medical emergenciesAssist with emergency health planningTrain staff in CPR and first aid as assignedDocumentation & Compliance:Maintain confidential health recordsEnsure compliance with Texas Education Code and DSHS requirementsPrepare required reportsCollaboration & Communication:Serve as liaison between school, families, and healthcare providersProvide consultation and staff trainingAddress health-related barriers to attendanceRural District Support:Travel between campusesWork independently with limited medical resourcesUtilize community health partnershipsProfessional Standards:Adhere to Texas Nurse Practice ActMaintain licensure and certificationsRequired Qualifications:Texas Registered Nurse LicenseCPR and First Aid certificationValid Texas driver's licenseStrong communication and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications:BSNSchool experience will be given hiring priorityKnowledge of Texas school health regulationsWork Environment:School campuses in a rural settingExposure to communicable diseases and emergencies
