Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel job in Rockford, Illinois.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Occupational TherapistDiscipline: TherapyStart Date: 05/26/2026Duration: 13 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 8 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Days, 5x8hrsHours: 40 hrs/wkStart Date: May 26, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an inpatient Physical Medicine unit at an acute care hospital, covering a diverse surgical and medical patient population across all floors.DetailsInpatient-only OT role within a hospital Physical Medicine departmentTherapists are not assigned to a single floor — coverage spans all floors of the hospitalPatient population includes post-op spine, CABG, rotator cuff, and mastectomy surgeries, as well as amputations, PNA, DKA, CVA, sepsis, and various cardiac conditionsOTs serve as the primary therapists for s/p spine, CABG, rotator cuff, and mastectomy casesCABG patients are seen in the ICU, typically on post-op day 1Orthopedic unit includes anterior THA and TKA patients (screened by PT) and posterior hip surgery patientsDay shift, 8 hours per shift, 5 shifts per weekOne weekend day required every 4 weeks, with schedule flex during that weekMust be available to work July 4thRequirementsCurrent, active Occupational Therapist license (license required if applicable)Current BLS certification requiredAdditional InformationProvide inpatient OT services across a wide range of surgical and medical floorsCollaborate within a therapy team that includes PTs who screen ortho patients for OT needsAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-706051.
