3019997What You'll Do:As a Principal Engineer with an AI focus, you’ll play a key role in shaping how AI is applied across ADT’s security products and engineering practices. You’ll work with a distributed platform team to bring consumer‑facing, AI‑enabled experiences from concept through launch.Lead end‑to‑end development of AI products, from research and prototyping through production deploymentDesign and implement advanced video analysis systems using computer vision and deep learning techniquesDevelop robust data models and data pipelines to support large‑scale AI and machine learning applicationsOptimize model performance for accuracy, latency, and scalability in production environmentsDesign and build solutions within large, complex platform systemsBuild and maintain MLOps infrastructure to support model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoringWrite high‑quality, production‑ready code in a hands‑on, senior individual contributor roleHelp set technical direction and influence architecture and platform decisionsPartner with cross‑functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver solutionsStay current with emerging trends in computer vision, video understanding, and AI technologiesMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision‑making across the teamExplore and apply AI‑driven improvements to software development workflows and engineering processesWhat You'll Need:15+ years of professional software development experience3+ years of hands‑on, production experience delivering AI or machine learning solutionsStrong experience with deep learning, computer vision, neural networks, and model optimizationExperience with video analysis techniques such as object detection and tracking, action recognition, video segmentation, temporal modeling, and scene understandingStrong understanding of data modeling, ETL pipelines, feature engineering, data quality, and scalable data architecturesProficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Rust, Python, or C++, with strong version control practices (Git)Experience using AI and ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, scikit‑learn, and OpenCVExperience working in large‑scale, distributed systemsHands‑on experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and GPU optimizationAbility to operate with high ownership and strong technical judgment Skills That Set You Apart:Experience working across multiple programming languagesPlatform, infrastructure, or security system experienceExposure to applying AI within regulated or mission-critical environmentsWorkstyle: Hybrid schedule - employees work onsite a minimum of four days per week, with one remote day. These awards are allocated based on company and individual performance.We offer employees access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and paid time off among others. Employees accrue up to 120 hours in their first year. Your accrual rate increases after your first year.
