Quality Manager

About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead factory quality operations across incoming materials, production, finished products, and customer feedback.The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of quality supervisory or management experience in equipment manufacturing, strong shop-floor problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin Chinese and English. Experience in air conditioning manufacturing is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming Quality & Supplier ManagementOversee incoming inspection of raw materials and components to ensure compliance with quality requirements.Monitor supplier quality performance, resolve incoming defects, and verify corrective action effectiveness.Identify and address supplier-related quality risks before they affect production.In-Process Quality ControlLead first-piece inspections, in-process inspections, and process audits to detect and prevent recurring or widespread defects.Oversee quality controls for key air conditioning manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding and brazing, leak testing, evacuation, refrigerant charging, and run-in testing.Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues such as refrigerant leaks, abnormal noise, water leaks, and cooling performance problems.Finished Product & Outgoing QualityEstablish and maintain inspection criteria for product performance, appearance, and run-in testing.Review outgoing inspection reports and ensure nonconforming products are contained before shipment.Conduct periodic inventory quality inspections and coordinate follow-up actions.Customer Quality & Continuous ImprovementCoordinate customer inspections and manage quality complaints, returns, and after-sales quality issues.Independently lead 8D investigations and reports, from containment and root cause analysis through corrective action verification and closure.Analyze recurring field failures and work with engineering, production, and suppliers to reduce complaints and prevent recurrence.Quality Systems & ReportingMaintain and improve the ISO 9001 quality management system, inspection standards, procedures, and quality records.Analyze supplier, production, outgoing, and customer quality data to identify improvement priorities.Report quality performance and drive initiatives to reduce defects, rework, scrap, and other quality-related costs.Coordinate customer quality audits and follow up on findings.Team LeadershipManage the quality inspection team, including daily assignments, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.Standardize inspection practices and strengthen the team’s technical and problem-solving capabilities.Implement factory quality policies and promote accountability across departments.Qualifications:Experience & EducationAt least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager in equipment manufacturing.Bachelor’s degree or above from a full-time degree program.Experience with air conditioning production processes, component characteristics, and applicable industry quality standards is preferred.Experience overseeing end-to-end factory quality operations at a major air conditioning manufacturer is highly preferred.Quality & Technical SkillsStrong working knowledge of incoming quality control (IQC), in-process quality control (IPQC), final quality control (FQC), and outgoing quality control (OQC).Proficiency in quality tools and structured problem-solving methods, including 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.Ability to independently resolve shop-floor quality issues, support customer audits, and manage customer complaints through closure.Practical experience maintaining an ISO 9001 quality management system and using quality data to drive improvement.Leadership & CommunicationA practical, hands-on approach to solving problems on the production floor.Strong cross-functional communication, team leadership, and execution skills.Ability to prioritize competing demands and work effectively under pressure.Professional working proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required, with the ability to communicate clearly in meetings, quality reports, and day-to-day coordination.
