Hematology/Oncology Physician

Position Overview One of our Partners, in Virginia is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide clinic-only locum tenens coverage beginning March 2026. This is a weekday outpatient oncology role with no call, strong APP and nursing support, and a manageable daily patient volume. Provider compensation ranks in the Top 10% nationally for outpatient Hematology/Oncology locum tenens roles based on 2025 market data. Assignment Highlights Outpatient oncology clinic coverage onlyNo call responsibilitiesFlexible weekday schedule: 4-5 days per weekTypical clinic hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (last patient scheduled at 3:40 PM)8-10 hour workdays depending on clinic flowAverage daily patient volume: 13-15 patientsStrong multidisciplinary support teamEmergency privileges requested to expedite startEpic / Beacon EMR Job Responsibilities Provide outpatient Hematology and Medical Oncology careManage solid tumor and malignant hematology patientsEvaluate and treat common benign hematology conditions (e.g., iron deficiency anemia)Collaborate with APPs, infusion nurses, pharmacists, and support staffCoordinate care plans, follow-ups, and treatment regimensDocument patient encounters in Epic / Beacon Skills & Experience Board Certified in Hematology/OncologyMinimum 2 years of post-training experienceComfortable managing outpatient oncology and hematology independentlyExperience with Epic EMR requiredBone marrow transplants referred to tertiary centersNo bone marrow biopsies required in clinic
