This position reports directly to the Director, Business Development.The Manager leads strategic growth initiatives and drives new business opportunities across targeted markets and sectors. This role is responsible for managing the full pursuit lifecycle — from opportunity identification and capture strategy through contract award — while building strong client relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver winning solutions. Paid time off, including vacation, sick days, and holidays.401(k) Retirement Plan with company match and immediate vesting.Competitive compensation, annual pay increases, and bonuses.State embraces and encourages workplace diversity.WHAT YOU WILL DOLead and manage strategic business pursuits from early opportunity identification through contract award, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives.Develop and execute capture strategies, including win plans, competitive positioning, stakeholder engagement, and risk assessment to improve pursuit success.Lead commercial discussions related to pricing strategy, contract structure, negotiation planning, and margin considerations to support profitable outcomes.Build and strengthen client relationships while leveraging market intelligence and industry insights to identify and advance high-value opportunities.Partner closely with operations, estimating, preconstruction, finance, and executive leadership teams to align resources and drive coordinated pursuit execution.Monitor pipeline activity, conversion metrics, and opportunity progress to ensure accountability, clear next steps, and measurable business results.Evaluate pursuit risks, challenge assumptions, and provide strategic recommendations that improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline quality, and overall win rates.WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM5+ years of experience in construction business development, capture management, strategic sales, or a related leadership role.Demonstrated success leading complex pursuits, developing client relationships, and driving business growth.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field.Strong negotiation, commercial strategy, and deal leadership experience with an understanding of pricing, margin, and risk considerations.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive decisions forward in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.Strong organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.Experience in specialty multi-trade contracting or other project-based industries is considered an asset.Proven ability to independently manage opportunities from qualification through contract execution is highly valued.Executive presence and experience leading complex negotiations and strategic discussions are considered strong assets.
