Manufacturing Plastic Procurement Specialist

In this pivotal position, you will help ensure the uninterrupted supply of virgin and recycled plastic resins and related raw materials, striking a balance between cost, quality, and delivery performance. Learn more at www.ssitote.com and www.schaeferwaste.com.What You’ll DoPlace & Manage OrdersIssue timely purchase orders for raw materials and suppliesPlan, create, and process requisitions and purchase orders based on plant needsTrack orders and ensure on-time deliveriesAnalyze invoices and billing details to ensure accuracy of raw materials deliveredMaintain and update purchase order records in ERP systemClose incomplete PO’s as neededSupplier Relationship ManagementIdentify and build strong relationships with key suppliersNegotiate pricing, terms, quality expectations, and delivery deadlinesCommunicate regularly with suppliers, schedule meetings, and coordinate projects as needed to address and resolve supply-related issues.Measure and track supplier performance based on cost, quality, deliverables, and service levelsQuality & Process CoordinationCollaborate with Quality Assurance for raw material inspections upon deliveryInitiate corrective actions with vendors as necessaryParticipate in cycle counts and reconcile data discrepanciesWork closely with internal teams to address any supply chain disruptions or material quality issuesCross-Functional CollaborationWork alongside finance, sales, operations, and logistics to resolve procurement issues and concernsAnalyze market trends and supplier performance data to support procurement decisions and continuous improvementAssist with other projects or tasks as neededWhat You’ll BringExperience:3+ years in procurement or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing or plastics environmentStrong negotiation, analytical, and critical thinking abilitiesExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Flexible, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a newly created roleProfessional work ethics: We ask that cell phone use be limited to breaksEducation:Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field preferredWhy Join Schaefer Plastics?Make an impact in a global organization where your voice mattersBeing part of a company committed to sustainability and innovationEnjoy a collaborative, growth-focused work cultureSchaefer Plastics is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
