Progam Evaluation Associate
SBS Evaluation & Program Development Specialists is seeking an Evaluation Associate to become an integral part of our team! SBS Evaluation & Program Development Specialists is a small professional consulting firm established to provide quality and culturally competent evaluation services in New Mexico. We are known for our quality work, integrity, responsiveness and competency. Our clients include federal agencies, state agencies, counties, cities, universities, and tribes.
The Evaluation Associate will assist with project evaluation, project management, and client engagement for various projects throughout the state of NM. The work involves meeting with agencies that contract us to evaluate their programs, developing data collection tools, conducting stakeholder interviews, focus groups, data collection through surveys, compiling findings and managing data, data analysis, and reporting findings. Data visualization skills are a plus. Projects we currently evaluate focus on substance abuse prevention, treatment, trauma & resiliency and housing. Past projects have focused on exercise, nutrition and early childhood education, DWI, and provider training on MAT.
Responsibilities:
Maintain contact with projects that contract with SBS Evaluation
Assist in the coordination of evaluation activities
Design quantitative and qualitative data collection plans.
Conduct focus groups and key stakeholder interviews
Develop data collection instruments
Meet with substance abuse prevention and/or treatment programs to monitor program implementation and continuous program improvement.
Collect, review, analyze secondary data.
Write reports and create presentation for a range of audiences incorporating effective data visualization.
Provide technical support to clients on data collection, data collection tool development, data entry, and data systems.
Provide training and capacity building around evaluation
Professional communication with State, Federal, local government and community partners organizations
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Program Management- understanding the scope of work, performance measures, and timelines for projects. Meeting deadlines established by funders, developing project activities and clearly communicating with clients.
Communication: SBS CEO will be kept informed of all evaluation activities, online calendars will be shared, cloud-based project management software will be used, and weekly meetings will take place.
Qualifications: Previous experience in social sciences, public health, public health administration, qualitative research or related field.
Master's in Public health, statistics, public administration, psychology, sociology, behavioral health, or closely related field preferred.
Knowledge of program evaluation frameworks and theories
Project Management skills
Ability to make public presentations to a variety audiences
Two years of experience leading research and/or evaluation projects including methods design, development of data collection tools, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and reporting.
Experience in research, prevention programs and evaluation methods;
Experience with public health programs focused on substance abuse prevention;
Experience in developing quantitative and / or qualitative research tools for data collection;
Behavioral health, participatory research, and/or related public health;
Group facilitation skills;
Experience with online survey platforms (i.e., Survey Monkey, Jotforms, Qualtrics, etc.);
Experience collecting, managing, cleaning, analyzing, and/or interpreting both quantitative and qualitative data;
Experience reporting data results both written and verbally and displaying data in visually appealing ways for a variety of audiences (i.e., reports, summaries, dashboards, presentations, etc.);
Self motivated, Initiative and self-management; the ability and drive to dive into work and accomplish tasks within established timeframes;
Flexibility and adaptabiity to projects needs, project schedules, and type of project
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Group facilitation skills
Demonstrated research/program evaluation ability
Demonstrated ability with qualitative data collection
Experience reporting data results both written and verbal
