Solid Waste Specialist

The City of Elmira is recruiting a solid waste specialist.The City of Elmira is currently accepting applications for a Solid Waste Specialist I or II. This position involves the responsibility for the operation of automotive equipment and for learning the duties and routines for the collection and disposal of solid waste.Minimum qualifications include: a high school diploma or equivalent. Possession of a NYS commercial Driver's License Class B with the appropriate endorsements or a learner's permit which must be maintained throughout appointment in this title. Completion of National Safety Council Safe Driving course and a Class B license is required prior to the end of training period.$18.66 an hourBenefit package: NYS retirement, paid vacation, personal and sick time, health insurance, dental and vision insurance.
