Licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission. The unit has 12 Labor and Delivery beds. There is 1 operating room suite. There is 1 triage bed. There are 4 postpartum beds. The average number of births per year is 80-100. Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines? Yes. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips. Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Oxytocin, Insulin, and Epidural. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor roles are available. There are OB techs on this unit. OB/Neonatologist coverage is not in-house 24/7. The unit is equipped with CPAP, BiPAP, and Vent. Telemetry is available, and monitor techs are housed. Registered Nurses can read strips. The EFM system used is GE Centricity. Shifts are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM. There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend. There is a holiday requirement covering either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. There are 3-4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule, and the nurse must be available and present to work within 30 minutes if on call. There are no floating requirements. Scrubs are provided in-house. Unit/department-specific orientation is provided intradepartmentally. The ability to circulate and recover Cesarean sections is preferred. Charting is done using the EPIC system.
