However, applications will continue to be accepted until position is filled.STARTING SALARY: $17.03/HourSTATUS: Seasonal (non-benefitted); This position is Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. 40 hours per week from April to October 2026. No experience required. On the job training.DEPARTMENT: Parks & RecreationMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Some related work experience preferred, but not required. Must be at least 15 years old to apply. Requires a valid Learner’s Permit or valid Utah Driver’s License. Knowledge of tools, machines, and equipment used in the maintenance and construction of City parks, athletic fields, the cemetery and recreation facilities; OSHA safety standards; general construction practice and procedures; principles of plant and turf life. Great responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment, and tools; inform supervisor of athletic field problems that could restrict or deny field use. Minimal contacts with other departments and the public (coaches, school children) requiring tact, judgment, good communication skills. Regular use of both light and heavy trucks and four-wheeled A.T.V.s; frequent use of riding and walk-behind mowers, tractors, backhoes, and other facility, park and athletic field maintenance related equipment. Supervisor may limit equipment operation based on Department of Labor age restrictions. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Frequent walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.); moderate stooping and/or kneeling. Extensive field work in parks and cemetery (90% of work is performed outside); frequent exposure to heat, cold and wet/humid conditions; constant exposure to excessive noise and vibration; requires some weekend, holiday, and evening work; this is a heavily supervised position.Note: Applications may only be submitted online.
