Accept bid packages; assist in gathering, calculating and compiling of data for use in bid proposals; assist in the assembly of proposal packages; assist project manager in reviewing job progress on paper and in person; order required material, hardware, consumables, tools, equipment, etc.; maintain high safety profile. Requirements:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareThorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulationsAbility to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environmentAbility to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delaysAbility to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problemsThorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawingsEducation & Experience:Minimum two-year degree in construction management or construction related fieldStrong ability to read drawings; ability to perform quantitative take-offs / estimatesStrong Microsoft Excel and computer skills (extensive work with spreadsheets)Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera; OSHA 30-hour trainingStrong writing skills; accurate, detailed, reliable, persistent, self-motivated, high energy, and quick learner required; strong ability to retain new knowledge requiredMust have ability to handle several tasks and projects simultaneouslyTravel Requirements:Travel to project sites, or other APi Inc company locations as neededPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Primarily a stationary position for a considerable portion of the day (sitting and/or standing) The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printerMust be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face to face, conference calls, and online meetingsThe employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 poundsMust be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant environmentPPE required when in the plant, yard or construction areas include:Hard HatSafety Glasses / GogglesSteel-toed BootsHigh Visibility VestHearing Protection (designated areas)GlovesResponsibilities:Extract takeoff quantities from bid drawings and field measurements, as established from reviewing specifications, terms, and conditions from bid packagesPrepare costs to apply to takeoff quantities, for use in developing bid for proposalsParticipate in developing project updatesAssist in preparation of proposal documentsMaintain files of working documents for back-up to estimate and account related documentsAssist in preparation of cost analysis reports on a regular basis for record keeping and presentation to management and customers as necessaryCreate and maintain relationships with customers as directed by managerWrite correspondence on matters of importance per direction of managerParticipate in evaluation of completed jobs and compile accurate cost histories for use in future estimatesPrepare special reports and complete other projects as directedAssume additional duties as directed by supervisorAssemble information pertaining to maintenance contracts and cost plus ratesDevelop and sustain current and future relations with customersTrack cost plus labor and material quantities and rates on a regular basisAssist in the coordination of resources.
