Senior Mechanical Engineer (Contract) – Pneumatic Systems / Paintball Equipment Location: Remote Schedule: Flexible, Part-Time, Contract position Contract Length: ~3 months to start, potential to extend Compensation: Hourly + Full Benefits About the Opportunity A founder in the sports equipment space is launching a new venture focused on next-generation paintball equipment including the design of a new air-driven paintball marker. We’re seeking a senior-level Mechanical Engineer with deep experience in pneumatics and precision mechanical design to lead the development of the company’s first products. This is a part-time contract role ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on product development, rapid prototyping, and owning the mechanical architecture of a product from concept through early iterations. If the initial product launch goes well, there is strong potential for ongoing long-term contract work. What You’ll Do Lead the mechanical design of a new air-driven paintball marker (pneumatic system design is essential) Develop concepts, CAD models, and early prototypes using SolidWorks or Fusion 360 Iterate on designs based on testing, performance, and functional requirements Collaborate directly with the founder to define requirements, timelines, and design milestones Provide engineering guidance on manufacturability, materials, tolerances, and long-term product roadmap considerations Potential to support additional product designs as the company grows What We’re Looking For Senior-level Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience (not seeking junior or early-career candidates) Strong background in pneumatic systems, air-driven mechanisms, or similar precision mechanical assemblies Proficiency in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 Ability to work independently, plan your own work, and deliver high-quality design iterations Fully remote candidates welcome Why This Role Is Unique Work directly with a founder on a brand-new product line High autonomy and ownership over the mechanical architecture Flexible hours — ideal for someone consulting, semi-retired, or seeking part-time engineering work Opportunity to stay on long-term as the company expands its product portfolio #J-18808-Ljbffr
