Tax Manager

One of my top CPA firms is looking to hire a Tax Manager. The partners are a mix from big and small firms and they like to hire based on not only technical skills, but personality too.The firm promotes a work-life balance with the current environment of working from home where they embrace being able to take a walk during the day, log-off to be with your family and not check emails on the weekends. Essential ResponsibilitiesLead and manage complex tax compliance engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectationsIdentify and respond to client issues in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.Manage expectations effectively through clear and continuous communication with the client and/or other accountantCommunicate advice and answer questions of other associates relating to clients' accounting and tax situationsParticipate in and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projectsPlan and schedule engagements with clients and firm resourcesPerform detailed reviews of tax workpapers and provision calculations completed by other associatesConsult with office personnel on unusual client tax problems; diagnose client needs and work to satisfy those needsCommunicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely mannerReview financial statements and footnotes, management reports, executive reports, and other requested deliverablesProvide training, direction, and supervision to staff, senior accountants, and managersQualifications6+ years solid experience in corporate, partnerships and individual compliance.BS and/or Masters in Accounting.Must be a CPASuperb communications skills (written and verbal).Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Excellent organizational and analytical skills.Able to problem solve and think both creatively and logically.Strong tax research skills.
