Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionWe are seeking an experiencedSenior Systems Engineer 3 to lead complex systems engineering efforts with a strong emphasis on personal and environmental safety. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, safety engineering knowledge, and a proven ability to deliver innovative, safety-compliant solutions in support of mission-critical defense programs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead systems engineering activities with a focus on safety requirements, hazard analysis, and risk mitigation across the full system lifecycleDevelop and maintain Safety Management Plans, hazard analyses, and environmental impact assessmentsEnsure compliance withDoD safety standards and regulationsIntegrate personal and environmental safety requirements into system architectures and designsConduct and support Safety Reviews, including Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and System Safety Working Groups (SSWG)Collaborate with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) teams to ensure regulatory complianceMentor junior engineers on safety engineering best practicesSupport proposals, design reviews, and customer interactions related to safety requirementsQualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fieldExperience: 2+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, with demonstrated focus on safety engineeringClearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferredSkillsHazard Analysis and Risk AssessmentEnvironmental compliance and impact assessmentModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama)Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DoD safety regulationsStrong communication and leadership skillsSalary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
