The Role We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Staff Systems Design Engineer to join our team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD\'s products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD\'s abilities to deliver high-quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters continuous technical innovation and supports career development.
The Person As a lead engineer in Systems Design Engineering, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high-visibility role, your hardware and firmware systems engineering expertise will support product development, root cause analysis, and resolution. Daily activities include post-silicon validation and triage/debug for EPYC and other AMD products.
Key Responsibilities Driving technical innovation to improve AMD\'s capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, methodology enhancement, and cross-functional technical initiatives
Debugging issues found during the process, including bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
Collaborating with multiple teams to develop test plans and perform execution to ensure features are validated and optimized on time
Working closely with supporting technical teams
Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks
Leading complex debug efforts for silicon findings to identify root cause and resolution
Preferred Experience Several years of experience in Post-Silicon Validation roles involving debugging OS, firmware, silicon, and SoC/Platform hardware issues
Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debugging, and validation strategy
Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)
Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
Strong customer focus; experience with one of AMD\'s customer validation teams is a plus
Experience using automation frameworks for execution is a plus
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Clear communication skills - written and verbal
Must be a self-starter and able to independently drive tasks to completion
Academic Credentials Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
