Salary commensurate with experience.We are seeking an experienced Steel Inspector to perform construction phase testing and inspection of structural steel and welding at various client sites throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in structural steel inspection and welding inspection.Location: Buffalo, NYResponsibilities:Conduct construction phase testing and inspection of structural steel and welding at various client sites;Perform non-destructive testing utilizing Ultrasonic Testing methods;Inspect timber framing installations;Assist with other special inspections as needed; andTravel to project sites as required. Requirements:American Welding Society - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required;Non-destructive testing proficiency in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) required;Timber framing inspection experience;Proficient in Microsoft Office suite;Comfortable working at heights;Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; andValid driver's license and willingness to travel. Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience with geotechnical and/or environmental field investigation;Prior experience with structural steel construction and fabrication;ICC Bolting/Welding CertificationUT Inspector CertificationEngineer in Training (EIT) certification; andACI, AASHTO, or ICC certifications.
