You’ll set the standard for design excellence, guiding a small team while staying deeply connected to the work. Equal parts maker and mentor, you’ll translate strategy into polished creative that captures the energy of secondhand fashion and connects with our customers in fresh, inspiring ways. You’ll bring an eye for elevated design and a strategic understanding of how creative drives engagement, conversion, and brand love across channels. You’ll partner closely with the Creative Director to evolve our visual identity, bring bold ideas to life, and tell ThredUp’s story in ways that feel fashion-forward, relevant, and unmistakably secondhand.In This Role You’ll Get ToLead and mentor a team of designers, creating an environment of collaboration, growth, and creative excellenceYou’re creative contributions go beyond design; you level up brand campaigns, marketing initiatives, and digital experiences from concept through execution, pitching bold ideas that push the brand forwardDevelop high-performing creative across multiple touchpoints (ads, emails, site creative, social) that blends storytelling and brand strategy to engage, convert, and build loyaltyBalance creativity, craftsmanship, and executional rigor to deliver thoughtful, high-quality work quickly and consistentlyPartner with the Copy Lead to deliver integrated campaigns that align voice and visualsCollaborate with Creative Ops to align on priorities, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring smooth production and efficient executionApply a structured, framework-based approach to design, ensuring creative thinking is strategic, scalable, and repeatableExperiment with new tools, workflows, and AI to move faster, spark ideas, and expand creative possibilitiesStay connected to the fashion and cultural landscape to keep ThredUp’s creative work fresh, expressive, and inspiringWhat We’re Looking For7–9 years of experience in brand and marketing design, including concept development, system design, and campaign execution, with 2+ experience leading and mentoring other designersA portfolio that demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship, advertorial understanding, taste, and creative thinking, with proven experience using design to drive performance, including: engagement, conversion, and measurable impactDeep understanding of what makes effective marketing creative across channels (ads, emails, site creative, social), with the ability to balance brand storytelling and performance goalsConfident communicator and hands-on creative who can pitch, present, and translate ideas into compelling stories and visualsExpertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; motion or video experience is a plusCuriosity for new creative tools and proven experience leveraging AI to enhance creativity and efficiencyExperience in retail, e-commerce, or fashion, with a passion for sustainability and an awareness of cultural trends that shape design and styleAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations for quality and executional speed, paired with a proactive and growth-oriented mindsetAt ThredUp your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $175,000 and $195,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock. ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
