If this sounds interesting to you, keep reading and let’s talk.Compensation RangeAnnual Salary: $140,000.00 - $165,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)About This JobThe main purpose of this job is to review the Company’s quarterly and annual Form 10-Q and Form 10-K filings, as well as other financial statements prepared and issued by the Company. Additionally, this role will research technical accounting matters relevant to the Company and ensure compliance with accounting rules and disclosures requirements.Essential FunctionsMonitor new/updated disclosure requirements and ensure they are properly implemented in the Company’s financial statementsReview SEC financial statement disclosures prepared by othersReview accounting disclosure checklists to ensure completeness of the financial statementsReview XBRL tagging prepared by others and oversee the appropriateness of XBRL tags utilizedEnsure completeness and accuracy of the Company’s Form 10-Q and Form 10-K and deliver a completed product to Director of Financial Reporting for reviewMonitor changes in accounting rules, identify new/updated disclosures required to be included, and design new disclosuresResearch proper accounting treatment for transactions and compose documentation to support accounting conclusionsWork with necessary departments and team members to gather the data needed and implement processes to achieve correct accounting treatment or disclosure requirementsProvide peer disclosure comparisons for best practices and consistencyOrganize accounting policy meetings and present new accounting pronouncements to the accounting management teamReview of other financial statements issued by the Company for its various subsidiaries and benefit plan filing requirementsReview certain internal financial information utilized by senior managementEvaluation of SOX controls as neededLead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needsPerform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as requiredCommunicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectivelySupport budget management, planning and expenditurePerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities RequiredStrong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Strong experience in performing technical accounting research and documenting conclusionsStrong knowledge in monitoring accounting and disclosure guidanceStrong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problemsAbility to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the businessStrong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goalsOutstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writingAbility to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core ValuesStrong level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and TeamsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting required8+ years’ experience in Accounting required5+ years leadership/supervisory experience requiredCertified Public Accountant (CPA) requiredHybrid Schedule: In office 3 days per weekFor individuals applying, assigned and/or hired to work in areas with pay transparency requirements, Commerce is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for some roles. This compensation range is for the Senior Manager, SEC/Financial Accounting - Corporate job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $140,000 to $165,000 annually.
