Minneapolis, MN Full-Time Full Job Description: Select Mechanical Services (SMS) is looking for a motivated, customer integrity driven, technician candidate looking to find a great home on our Service Department team. We are looking to add another technician to our team. While some competitors focus on a high-pressure sale driven service model, we focus on a more technical service first based model. Customer interaction is foremost, so you have to have great communication skills and the desire to help the customers. We work on all types of equipment including Forced air heating & cooling, boilers, snow melt systems, geothermal systems, & controls, etc. A successful candidate will be someone who is interested in a position that is never the same routine day after day. We work primarily in a residential homes. SMS is a great company with solid support and the ability to keep learning thru your career. As a small business, we have a very loyal customer/contractor base which requires us to keep very high standards, reliability and accountability. Service Technician Responsibilities: Be available for hours that will vary with 8-9 hour shifts. Usual start time is between 6:30-7:00am. You would become part of the call rotation where you would average being On-Call one week a month. Our *On-Call *service is minimal, except that occasional Hot or Cold weekend. Our On-Call service is geared to take care of our existing customer base so we do not get an overwhelming amount which is nice for technicians. We are seeking an experienced Service technician with at least 4 years + experience. You should be able service all types of heating/cooling systems for annual maintenance items, such as preparing them for winter and bringing them back into operation in the spring. Sales skills helpful to help customers with the best options Good Communication and problem-solving skills Hot Water & Boiler skills would be a bonus for our customer base Knowledge of construction is a plus, as we work on larger projects as well Valid license in MN for journeyman would be a plus Must have a Valid drivers license to work out of a nice company vehicle.
