Project Director Operations (Mission Critical & Data Centers)Location: Anywhere in the U.S. Nationwide Travel (70%+) Detroit, MI HQ Compensation: ~ $200,000 $240,000 base Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire The Opportunity: A leading construction firm is seeking a Project Director Operations to oversee large-scale, complex projects in the mission critical / data center and advanced industrial sectors. This executive-level role drives project strategy, team leadership, client engagement, and overall performance across major programs exceeding $100M. This is a high-travel, high-impact position requiring exceptional operational leadership, deep technical knowledge, and experience delivering major capital projects. Note: Not remote. Must travel 70%+ and work from the Detroit HQ when not on project. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute comprehensive project plans aligned with company and client goals Lead and mentor cross-functional project teams across operations, safety, quality, procurement, and project controls Manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, and overall project financial performance Support business development, new project pursuits, and client expansion efforts Serve as a senior client-facing leader, ensuring communication, alignment, and satisfaction Identify and mitigate risks; ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Drive continuous improvement and leverage technologies such as BIM, P6, Procore, and CMiC QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field 15+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role Proven success delivering $100M+ construction projects (required) Experience in mission critical / data centers OR industrial, electrical, manufacturing, infrastructure, or energy construction Strong understanding of project controls, financial forecasting, scheduling, and contract management Valid U.S. driver's license and passport Ability to travel 70%+ and work onsite long-term Skills & ExpertiseExceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities Strong background in safety management and quality compliance Deep knowledge of construction laws, standards, and regulations Ability to manage budgets, schedules, resources, and high-pressure project environments Experience supporting business development and strategic growth Role DetailsSchedule:MondayFriday, 8 AM5 PM Travel:Heavy (70%+); travel allowance provided Attire:Business casual (e.g., jeans + polo) Background Check:Required Drug Screen:As applicable If you are a senior construction operations leader with deep experience in large, complex projectsand you are energized by mission critical, data center, and advanced industrial workwe'd love to speak with you.
