Senior Financial Reporting Accountant**Fully remote**This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys technical accounting, financial reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning!In this highly visible role, you'll partner with teams across Finance, Actuarial, Investments, and Business Operations while developing deep expertise in the insurance and financial services industries. You'll play a key role in preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual GAAP and Statutory financial statements, performing technical accounting research, supporting external audits, and helping drive reporting excellence across the organizationWhat You'll DoFinancial Reporting & AnalysisPrepare and review GAAP and Statutory financial statements and external reportsTake ownership of report content, accuracy, and presentation from start to finishPrepare and review supporting schedules and tie-out documentation gathered across multiple departmentsCoordinate quarterly and annual reviews with external auditorsAnalyze quarterly financial results and support management reportingBenchmark peer companies and recommend reporting best practicesTechnical AccountingResearch and interpret GAAP and Statutory accounting guidanceAssist with implementation of new accounting and reporting requirementsPrepare accounting policies, technical memos, and supporting documentationConduct technical accounting research for new or complex transactionsStay current on industry developments and share knowledge across teamsControls & Process ImprovementExecute and maintain internal controls over financial reportingPrepare and maintain related documentation and compliance supportLead and participate in special projects and process improvement initiativesWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or public company reportingExperience preparing financial statements and footnote disclosuresStrong technical accounting research and documentation skillsExposure to internal controls over financial reportingExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsCPA or CPA-eligibleExperience in financial services, insurance, or a regulated industry
