Purchasing Analyst

Our client, a leader in the power sports industry, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Analyst for a 6 month contract assignment in Plymouth, MN. This role will be fully onsite during the training period then will transition to hybrid work arrangement at manager discretion.Location Requirement: To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must currently reside within the Greater Minneapolis area and be able to commute to Plymouth, MN. Applicants whose profiles indicate a location outside the Greater Minneapolis area will NOT be considered.Job Summary:Actively manage Parts, Garments & Accessories (PG&A) suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products to distribution facilities. Coordinate with demand planning analysts to ensure the proper quantities are purchased to achieve strategic inventory and service level objectives to meet customer needs.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and foster relationships with select suppliers to drive consistent performance and improve back-order recoveryReview system recommended purchase quantities collaborating with demand planning analysts to improve accuracyApprove purchase orders, ensure on-time delivery by reviewing expedite, defer, and cancel messages as necessary to achieve fill-rate and inventory goalsResolve backorder issues in accordance with goalsWork directly with suppliers to ensure system data integrity (cost, MOQ, lead-time, etc..)Negotiate cost, lead time, minimum and economic order quantities to the company’s benefitCoordinate and communicate with multiple departments to achieve business goalsProactively identify and communicate urgent issues to supervisorOther projects and duties as assignedSkills & Knowledge:Bachelor's Degree Preferred1+ year in supply chain management (i.e. MRP, logistics, and inventory management)Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting)High attention to detail and ability to multi-taskOrganization and communication skillsAptitude to solve problems and improve processesAbility to negotiate, influence and resolve conflict with diplomacy and partnershipAbility to work independently with a minimum level of supervisionPay Rate- $28.17-$30.28/ hour
