Accounting Analyst

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our growing team!The Accounting Analyst ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.How You Will ContributeEnter, balance, and post all daily cash, ACH, check, and credit card deposits.Generate and send out customer requests for information including follow-up requestsReview and process Customer files.Generate and send out customer invoices.Generate age analysis; review AR aging to ensure compliance.Follow up with customers regarding open balances, via account statements and payment reminders.Perform new customer credit checks and establish customer payment terms.Support month-end and year-end close process.Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.Skills & Experience To Be SuccessfulBS degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred)2+ years corporate accounting experience in a relevant industryThorough knowledge of accounting proceduresIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Awareness of business trendsFamiliarity with financial accounting statementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processHands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as QuickBooksAdvanced MS Excel skills including SUMIF’s and VLOOKUP’sTeammate Benefits & Total Well-BeingWe go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including:Health Benefits: Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance Financial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement Mental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy ServicesBeyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.
