The POC Educator shares responsibility with the Ancillary Testing Manager to interpret and review the policies and procedures. The POC Educator serves as a resource to clinicians, educators and management for regulatory requirements, scheduling training, and identifying Point of Care Testing (POCT) educational needs of staff. Work situations require moderate problem solving and analytical skills. This position is an intermediate-level position, working under limited supervision.RequirementsFour (4) years combined relevant teaching and experience in area of expertiseMust have access to a reliable vehicle; Current Washington Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate stateClinical Laboratory experience: including test performance, quality control procedures and documentation, and specimen collection including capillary and venipunctureAssociates degree in related health care field, or the equivalent in Applied Technology or Science preferredBachelor of Science preferredMedical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT, or MLS (ASCP) preferredAbout Tacoma General HospitalMultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, in the heart of Tacoma, WA, is a 367-bed regional medical center delivering cutting-edge care. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $58,510.00 - $85,051.20 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
