Grinder Operator Utilize a large swing grinder and/or small hand grinder to condition parts for defect removal. Grind and smooth surfaces of parts prior to finishing operations, ensuring a high-quality finish.Responsibilities Examine and feel the surface of workpieces for defects.Remove defects and/or sharp edges.Select grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications and knowledge of abrasives.Attach selected abrasive to grinder.Start grinder and move it over the surface of workpieces to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burs.Polish ground areas with finer abrasives to produce a smooth, unmarred surface.Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts.Maintain a safe and organized workstation.Follow all company policies, safety, and procedures.Essential Skills Experience with grinder operation and general labor in a manufacturing environment.Mechanically inclined with proficiency in machine operation and production processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Join a dedicated team where safety and quality are priorities.
